於是柏拉图去做了。许久之后，他却空著双手回来了。

柏拉图说道：当我走在田间的时候，曾看到过几株特别大特别灿烂的麦穗，可是，我总想著前面也许会有更大更好的，於是就没有摘；但是，我继续走的时候，看到的麦穗，总觉得还不如先前看到的好，所以我最后什麽都没有摘到。。。

又一天，柏拉图问苏格拉底：什么是婚姻？
苏格拉底说：我请你穿越这片树林，去砍一棵最粗最结实的树回来好放在屋子裏做圣诞树，但是有个规则：你不能走回头路，而且你只能砍一次。

苏格拉底问：“为什么不把它带出去呢？”

Here is a farewell speech from Tamori san to this famous producer. Although I dunno his 先生, but from this farewell speech, I learnt that this guy was the one who discovered Tamori san at a small bar in kabukicho. I also learnt that this guy gave Tamori san his career, was his guardian, his father, his elder brother as well as his younger brother. This is a very moving speech. And I was very touched from Tamori san's 気持。

「弔辞、８月の２日に、あなたの訃報に接しました。６年間の長きにわたる闘病生活の中で、ほんのわずかではありますが、回復に向かっていたのに、本当に残念です。われわれの世代は、赤塚先生の作品に影響された第一世代といっていいでしょう。あなたの今までになかった作品や、その特異なキャラクターは、私達世代に強烈に受け入れられました。

　１０代の終わりから、われわれの青春は赤塚不二夫一色でした。何年か過ぎ、私がお笑いの世界を目指して九州から上京して、歌舞伎町の裏の小さなバーでライブみたいなことをやっていたときに、あなたは突然私の眼前に現れました。その時のことは、今でもはっきり覚えています。赤塚不二夫がきた。あれが赤塚不二夫だ。私をみている。この突然の出来事で、重大なことに、私はあがることすらできませんでした。

This is nice Salsa... But too technical for me. The native salsa is a lot more.... erm... well.... native? hmmm. Well basically, Salsa is about having fun, relaxing. So the natives usually danced it as a sort of leisure activity, which makes it even more pleasant to watch. I still remember dancing salsa with this mexican guy (Sarah's friend, forgot name) and he was darn good.

But my favourite couple is Katee and Joshua. I really think they look good together. I wish I can do a samba. I wanna learn! The only type of dance I haven't learnt at all is ballroom!!! I am so jealous of people who can do ballroom.

Grotesque, by Natsuo Kirino

Recently, I got addicted to a japanese novel translated into English. A crime novel called Grotesque by Natsuo Kirino. I always buy books that I never manage to finish reading them. However, I am always drawn to mystery and crime novels. I like the intensity and the thrill of reading it, especially when I try to unlock personalities and mysteries. This book was so painful to read that I dreamt about me acting out the characters in the novel and waking up with cold sweat. Here's a short synopsis:

"Two prostitutes are murdered in Tokyo. Twenty years ago, they were educated at the same elite girls' school and had seeming promising futures ahead of them. One was so beautiful its almost unnatural. She was a high-class prostitute who had done it with her father's friend, uncle, and almost every male teacher/student when she was in the elite girl's school. One was a nerd who tried to do her best in everything despite being bullied badly in school, especially by the protagonist. The nerd had so much aspirations to be the best that she managed to get into the elite university and landed herself a good job in a top firm. Yet, both turned to the streets looking for customers to sleep with. How did they stoop themselves so low? What was their reason for doing so?"

It was a captivating novel. I just keep reading and reading for the past 2-3 days despite working and watching Japanese drams. I ended up reading this book than watching those dramas. This book is about understanding women, how women sought power through sex, how they survive in a patriarchal society. I could also relate myself with some parts of their lives, especially how they felt about people and life in general. Although I am not like any character in the novel, I still strike a chord with them. However, the novel was very disturbing. After reading it, I lost faith in morality and men in general. The novel depicted such a grotesque image of men that the more I read the more I felt disillusioned.
